About Our School

Thank you for visiting our school website, designed to introduce you to our Primary School and assist you in becoming familiar with us through answering many frequently asked questions.

Our staff, parents and community extend a warm welcome to you and your family and hope you will form a positive association with our school.

Ultima Primary School is a small school approximately 30 kilometres north-west of Swan Hill. The school and community have a rich and proud history, yet still today offer a diverse and 21st century curriculum that caters for all.

The school boasts a large stadium area for outdoor play that is fully protected from the weather.

Children learn at their own level and are provided with an extensive variety of resources to enhance their educational experience, including one to one computers, and a large range of ICT equipment.

Every child at Ultima Primary School has their own individual learning plan reflecting their specific learning needs.

These plans are reviewed every 5 weeks by their teachers and are used to drive the curriculum.

We carefully consider the abilities and interests of all our children and we are proud of our technologically inspired classrooms, playgrounds and low student to teacher ratios.

Students enjoy daily access computers/laptops, as well as each room containing an interactive white board. We boast weekly specialist classes in music, drama, dance and physical education. Daily literacy and numeracy blocks are the foundation of key life skills which are further supported by a teacher aide.

The curriculum has a strong focus on negotiated learning and experiential learning often using our playgrounds and gardens as a focus.

The school has a strong emphasis on camps and excursions/incursions to further enhance life long learning.

A strong sense of community involvement is encouraged through our arts program and our outdoor education/environmental program.

Ultima Primary School is dedicated to positive partnerships between parents and teachers in the learning process, and an open door policy encourages parents to participate widely in the schools' programs.

All students complete a digital portfolio that reflects their learning journey throughout the year.

I trust you'll find our website helpful, and please contact the school with any additional inquiries.
